Key Serving Opportunities:
Pastoral Care team (pastor/mercy/encouragement)
This team of people assist the pastors with follow up and care for our church. Each team member is offered several names each term to follow up by ensuring people are tracking well and identifying any needs the church may be able to assist with.
New People
- Morning Tea (hospitality/organisation)
Once a quarter we run a morning tea after the morning service for new visitors to meet the Senior Ministers in a relaxed and casual environment in the food court of Charlestown Square. Morning Tea and coffee needs to be organised to cater for this event.
- LIVE Dessert Night (hospitality/organisation)
Once a quarter we host a dessert night for new visitors who are looking at making Victory their home church. On the evening Ps Keith and Janet introduce themselves and explain the vision of the church. The LIVE team caters for the evening and assists with setup, food serving, pack down and hosting throughout the evening.
Discipleship
- Altar Call Decision Counselling (pastor/teaching/evangelism/mercy)
When a person commits to Christ in a service, decision counsellors take these people and walk them through the gospel to ensure they have understood what it means to accept Jesus. Training is available and it is a wonderful way to encourage and help someone new to the faith.
- Baptism coordinator (organisation)
The baptism coordinator is responsible for assisting the pastors with the baptism service. Liaison with the pool venue and follow up of the people being baptised covers the majority of the role.
Connect Leaders (teaching/hospitality/pastor/mercy)
Connect leaders play a pivotal role in our church, caring and nurturing people in a small group context. Connect leaders are required to have a general understanding of the scriptures, be confident to pray for people and host people in their homes or other settings. Connect leaders are the first point of care for the church and we ask leaders to follow up, care for and encourage members of their group. Connect training is made possible throughout the year and connect notes are provided weekly.
Activate Follow up (discernment/organisation/pastor/teaching)
After an ACTIVATE seminar, which assists people to find their best fit serving God, we interview each participant to see where we could position them to serve in the church. This coach is responsible for understanding the participant’s gift mix and passions, availability and personality and offer appropriate possibilities for the candidate to try. Understanding of the needs of the church is desirable. Training can be offered in this area.
