Discipleship is not a course but rather a lifestyle. It is a way of life following Jesus. Discipleship expresses devotion to God and people. It is a commitment of heart and service to see God’s Kingdom advanced. When we look at the church in the book of Acts we see, “a community of believers who were so totally devoted to God that their life together was charged with the Spirit’s power… Acts 2 tells us that this community of believers, this church, offered unbelievers a vision of life that was so beautiful it took their breath away. It was so bold, so creative, so dynamic that they couldn’t resist it. (Bill Hybels quoting Dr. Gilbert Bilezikian). This is the type of church we want to be. So discipleship encompasses church, serving, personal growth, connection and reaching out to others. It is the most amazing journey you can commit your life to.
